  1. As many of you already know, my father, George Nemetz, passed away unexpectedly after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. While weak of body he remained strong in spirit to the very end. I had the pleasure of spending a wonderful visit with him on Tuesday, Sept. 6, before he passed during the night on Wed., Sept. 7, at the age of 87. While he will be remembered for many things, I still remember him as a man of simple gifts, the person who taught me to drive, fly a kite, ride a bike, swim, speak on a stage, create vegetable gardens, change the tires on a car, build things in the wood shop we all loved, and of course sing (his voice was always much better than any of ours).

  3. I am so sorry that I will not be there this weekend to say goodbye to my Uncle George and to see the rest of the family. Uncle George was a lovely man. I remember our visits with them when I was a kid. Those were always such fun times for my family (the swimming pool, the fish pond, 4th of July!) We also enjoyed their visits to the North Coast and were always amazed by their generosity and how they welcomed us and the extended family with open arms. He was a very loving man with an awesome laugh and full of wonderful stories that will be missed very much by myself and my family.
